DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND RESEARCH CENTRE
The Department of Mathematics was recognized as a research Centre by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli in 2004. Dr. S. Pasunkilipandian, Associate Professor of Mathematics is serving as the Head of the research centre from 2017 onwards. At present four faculty members namely Dr. S. Pasunkilipandian, Dr. S. Nithyanantha Jothi, Dr. M. J. Jeyanthi and K. Bageerathi are approved as Ph.D., supervisors by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. So far 40 research scholars have completed their Ph.D., in our research centre. At present two full-time scholars and five part-time scholars are pursuing Ph.D degree in the field of Topology and Analysis.
Objectives of the Research Centre:
- To stimulate academic environment through the way of promoting quality research.
- To compete with standard of the national and international community.
- To give a concrete solutions to the social and economic problems of our country.
- To find the solutions of the real life problems through mathematics.
- To create awareness of the latest development in the field of mathematics
