ECONOMICS RESEARCH CENTRE

The Department of Economics was recognized as a research centre by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli in 1996. Dr. C. Ramesh, Associate professor of Economics is serving as the Head of the Research centre from 2016 onwards. At present three faculty members namely Dr. C. Ramesh, Dr. M. Ganesan, Dr. C. Sivamurugan are appointed as Ph.D guides by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. At present eight part-time scholars and two full-time scholars are pursuing their Ph.D degree in various fields of Economics.

Objectives of the Research Centre:

  • To stimulate academic environment through the way of promoting quality research.
  • To compete with schemes of the national and international community.
  • To give a concrete solutions to the social and economic problems of our country.
  • To find out cause and effect relationship of variables in Economics.
  • To create awareness of the latest development in the field of Economics.

Features of Research Centre:

  • The research centre is networked with broadband internet route.
  • The research centre is having very good library.
  • The research centre is having efficient faculty members.
