CHEMISTRY RESEARCH CENTRE

The Department of Chemistry was recognized as a Research Centre by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli for pursuing research in Chemistry on April 2007.                 Dr. C. Kavitha, Associate Professor of Chemistry is serving as the Head for the research centre. At present, five faculty members are approved as Ph.D. guides by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli and four scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. degree in various fields of chemistry under their guidance in our Research Centre.

Objectives of the Research Centre

  • To stimulate academic environment for promotion of quality research.
  • To establish synergistic collaboration with national and international organizations.
  • To compete with the scholars of the national and international community.
  • To create awareness of the latest developments in the field of chemistry.

Features of the Research Centre

  • The research centre is networked with broad-band internet round the clock and  INFLIBNET network of UGC can be accessed
  • There is an air-conditioned instrumentation room equipped with sophisticated UV-Visible spectrophotometer for analytical purpose.
  • One major research project funded by UGC and three minor research projects funded by different agencies have been completed.
  • So far more than 140 research papers have been published in reputed national and international journals. 
  • We have organized two international seminars and published proceedings with the ISBN number.
